2.2S dizzy on 2.4S?

Gentlemen!

The subject line says it all. Will a 2.2S dizzy work on a 2.4S? I am basically taking a 2.2S and installing a 2.4 crank, rods, heads and MFI pump. I couldn't find any advance info for the 2.2 dizzy to compare with the 2.4 dizzy. I know the 2.4 has a vacuum advance. Does this matter? Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!
BK

Your 2.2S distributor should work fine! The vacuum module on the 2.4 and 2.7 engines was to retard the engine 10° at idle for smog-control purposes. The curve of the 2.2S distributor had to be compatible with a high-compression engine with lots of overlap, so it will be fine on a 2.4S ...

Are you going to have a compression ratio above 10.3:1 now? Dual plugs sound like a necessity if your compression is going the be that high!

Warren!

I had a feeling you'd know! Not only did you know, but you also told me exactly what I wanted to hear!

Not sure about the CR, but I think it will be around 9.88:1. I have read about others who have used 2.2S pistons on a 2.4 without dual plug and they say it runs fine. One on an E and several on S's. Sounds like another post!

Thanks!
