Cool I've got gas...

Now that I've gotten your attention, I just wanted to let everyone know that I did another DIY project today and am quite pleased with the results.

While I know this is a simple project it still felt great to work on my own car and save the $$$.

In an attempt to solve an annoying intermittent noise, I pulled the plug on the bottom of the fuel tank, drained the tank and cleaned the in-tank filter screen (don't worry, I disconnected the battery before starting). Amazing what junk comes out of your tank!

After buttoning her back up and filling her with fresh gas not only does the noise appear to have disappeared but my fuel pump also seems to be quieter. I know it is too early to tell for sure but after 1 hour of driving today the noise did not reoccur.

Each little project seems to build confidence and like everyone else has said, it is a great way to bond with your car!

Doug, that's great. I did the same thing today. An unexpected 60 degree & sunny day had me out in the driveway changing oil, installing new hood struts & new battery ground straps, and fixing a loose ground wire in the tail light. Of course, I had to take it out for a long test drive to check the hood struts and such afterwords. -- Curt

P.S. The poster is packed and ready for shipment. I'll let you know how much.

Curt - I agree that there is nothing like a long spirited test drive to check out your completed work! BTW, you have to love these "winter days", no? Thanks for the poster update - once you say the word about the postage I'll have a check in the mail.

83911SC - where in NJ are you located? My family is from the Garden State and I am up there often.
