kramer747 05-12-2011 08:26 PM

pretty car but I think 33K might be a little lofty

tevake 05-12-2011 08:43 PM

Nice car, nice dream!

RoninLB 05-12-2011 09:03 PM

my bro has as perfect as can be Calif delivered 1988 Guards Red coupe that he's selling as soon as his new EVO arrives from Japan

he's second owner since 1995 when I bought his 1977 911
Car is the proverbial LA west side whore catcher. When I say you need S-03s he goes out and buys S-03s. When I say you should install a new fuel pump and alternator at 100k miles servicing he goes out and does it. I have his old working Bosch alternator and fuel pump out here in NY. He has all service papers, never in an accident, always garaged and it's his only car. The interior and seats look brand new. The paint job is polished to make it stunning when seen. The car hangs around Santa Monica and Marina Del Rey with his single friends $75-150k high end street cars, of which his car draws everybody's attention.

his car is too tame for me. I like hard driving machines and he says that my hard bushings are too nasty for him so he may get original rubber. The car is serviced by some of the best 911 guys on the west side area except TRE because the ride to them is a lot of work from his home.

He wants a lot less than the car offered above. If it made sense to me to have 2 911s I'd buy it.

Amazingly wishful thinking in the pricing. For a pretty plain jane targa that just happens to have a less common color I think the asking price is $10k high and that is considering having a little maneuvering room for haggling.

Soon as I saw the thread title, I knew which car he was talking about.

widgeon13 05-13-2011 02:53 AM

In your dreams......

andyt11 05-13-2011 06:03 AM

I saw an SC for sale for $40k the other day. I assume his wife told him "get that car sold".

bklyn 05-13-2011 07:16 AM

How many do I get for that price?

HA!!!
I sit humbled at the feet of a master of strategy...

... an idea is brewing ...

I'm going to start putting a For Sale sign in my car for $40k just to help boost the perceived market value of the cars...
... and to possibly catch the next over ca$hed lunatic that passes by!

euro911sc 05-13-2011 09:01 AM

There are a few SC's that have sold in the 30+ range in the last year. 1 in particular that I know of locally was traded for an early race car that was priced at $40k Not sure exactly how much $$ went with the SC if any. SC was a 'DONE' car, new paint, 3.2SS motor, etc...

Still, that Gent is going to get cold waiting for a buyer for that car... I estimate $13-16k over priced given what I have seen locally and here on Pelican. Rare color is meaningless on any car newer than '73, IMHO. I'd rather get the Lemon Yellow 912 and save 13k :p

Here is a 85 Targa on offer at European Classics in SoCal in a Special Order Color with the same miles for $19K:

Los Angeles Porsche Speedster Dealers Los Angeles Used Porsche Dealer

They've had it a while too. Draw your own conclusions...

Head injury maybe?? I wonder if he inherited the car and just has no sense of what the values really are these days? Trying to give him the benefit of the doubt but-Wow-he seems to think only driving 1000 miles in 10 years is a good thing...Ouch!

murphyjp 05-13-2011 01:41 PM

Have you seen the car on fleebay listed as Tina from Gone in 60 sec. Another wishful owner IMO.
