1974 911SC ingintion swap!

Hey guys first post!
I'm wanting to get rid of the points on this car and install a Crane XR3000 with matching coil. So far it seems straight forward but I wanted to double check a few things. The Crane unit completely replaces the blue Bosch unit on the drivers side firewall correct? It looks like a lead comes from the ignition box that then goes to the distributor where the new optical trigger will be. Is this all correct?
Also are there any tricks or things I should be aware of before I order all this stuff?
Thanks.
