GT: Purely Porsche?

So I picked up the latest copy of that new GT: Purely Porsche magazine the other day. The cover story is about the Carrera 2.7RS, so of course I had to read that first. In the story the author is describing the cockpit instrument layout, and there it says that the extreme left hand dial displays fuel quantity and water temperature. I did a big double take, and yes, there it was, water temperature.

Now I know that the 2.7RS is air cooled, and I'm sure that the guy who wrote the story does, too. He must have been preoccupied with picking up his 996 from the shop later that day or something. What crappy editing, though. I kind of lost interest in the rest of the magazine after I started to wonder what other errors were in there. I know mistakes can happen in any magazine, but really now.

I feel kind of bad for spending eleven Euros for it. Maybe I'll sell it on ebay.

The photography is very nice, though...

Agree.

I read and discarded my copy.
All the articles were just a re-hash of previous features in 911 & Porsche World and EVO.

Nice pictures, poor content and few advertisements. Maybe the content will beef up, I'm not waiting to find out though.

The magazine has great pictures, but I'm not abandoning 911&PorscheWorld for it.

I've only seen 1 issue and it seemed heavily slanted toward the 996s and Boxsters. Maybe just that issue, but I was underwhelmed. -- Curt

Issue 1 wasn't exactly a paragon of editing virtue either - the pictures of the 930 reviewed (3.3 model) had no resemblance to the specifications discussed (a 3.0 model).

Maybe it will get better.

I didn't see a slant, the issue I saw had a comparison between a 996 GT2 and a 78 930, a nice piece on a pre-A 356, and an article on a supposed Ruf conversion slantnose. (I say supposed because the intercooler looked like a factory 930 piece, and I believe that is pretty much the first thing Ruf changed, but I could be wrong)

The pics were really nice, and the articles were OK. 911 and P world or Excellence seem like better mags though, and the US price of $10 is a little high.
