Distributor vacuum question
I'm installing an 1982 ignition distributor on a 1978 SC. The original '78 distributor only had vacuum advance, the '82 has advance and retard. Do I attach the advance vacuum hose to the advance on the new vacuum canister and not plug anything into to retard or what? I do have a vacuum hose going to the non-working air pump, can I use that?

Yea, leave the retard pot disconnected, you don't need that. Strictly emissions stuff for the later SC's. Just get your total advance dialed in correctly.

If you are used to the 78, you are not going to be happy with that 82 Dizzy unless you get it recurved...

What do you predict will be the outcome when I run the 82 dizzy without recurving it? Does anybody know how much a recurve should cost?
