Front A Arm bushings

Does anyone have any real world experience with the Neatrix/URO replacement rubber bushings for the front A arms they can share with me? I have read all the postings and seen all the ER videos saying theirs are better but I would like to hear some someone who actually used the URO bushings. Are they OK, How does the car dirve, etc? I don't want to rekindle any flame wars so you can PM if you wish. I am looking to refresh my '87 Carrera suspension and am trying to make the decision between the various options I have. I want to keep the car as a daily driver, long distance tourer and occasional DE event car. As I see them my options in order of cost are:

1. Neatrix/URO rubber (~$60)
2. Polyurethane or ploygraphite custom grooved for grease and brackets fitted for zerk fittings (~$100)
3. ER rubber ($200+)
4. Rebel Racing bushings ($300+)
5. ER polybronze with self aligning brackets and washers. ($350+)
6. new Porsche A arms (ridiculous $$$)

Also for shock inserts is it worth the price and time to send my Bilstein HDs off to get revalved or should I just get order new ones?
What is the reasoning behind using Bilstein HDs in the front and Sports on the rear? Would adjustable Konis be a better option for street versus track uses?

I have a brand new set of rubber front bushings that I installed and then took out after seeing the ER video. I never drove on them nor did I even put the car on the ground. Ill sell them for $20 shipped if you want them.

Do not use the hard plastic bushings...they are pointless.

The polygraphite bushings will have some give to them, but they must be custom fitted or they will squeak. I have a set on the front and rear of my 89 Carrera and I've no problems with them what so ever...been on the car for 3+ years. I never liked expensive solultions when lower cost solutions can work just as well....

I think the pictures were linked and are no gone..

Front Suspension R&R with polygraphite bushings ala Souk!

I installed URO bushings last spring and thus far they have been fine. So far I see no cold flowing and they still look centered so no TB rubbing in sight. I dont track my car but for the price, I'll change them out every 5 years if needed.

I installed some about 6,000 miles back. No complaints.

In installed aftermarket (I believe they were URO) rubber bushings last year. Put about 3k miles on them and my front end is squeaking again! I haven't pulled the torsion bar yet to verify but it sounds exactly the same as it did when I found bad bushings a couple of years ago. FWIW - my front torsion bars are 22mm so they will certainly not tolerate as much sag as stock 19's.

my $0.02

I installed Rebel Racing bushings and had no problems or noises. IMO it depends on the kind of driving you are doing and also your level of drive comfort.

Installed URO's last week and it's been raining ever since. Coincidence??!!!

seriously, I got a few test drives around the hood with no obvious issues, and while I don't expect any probs, I don't have enough data for you.

I have just installed stock OEM rubber on the front arms and the squeaking is driving me mad - this weekend they are coming out to have grease nipples installed ready for silicon grease - if that does not work I will investigate other options

I placed poly bushing 10 years ago and have never had a noise. Yes, they took some custom fitting to get them right. I also installed zirc fittings and grooved the inner portion that comes in contact with the a arms. Every few years I take them completely apart and inspect for wear and play. I have seen nether in 10 + years and 30k miles.

I have used Polyurethane with no noise but I was thinking of switching to polybronze. The urethane version is supposed to bind but I have not tested this. The polybronze seems like the best solution but more expensive. WHo has expereince with Polybronze?

What ever bushing you use, there is some fitting to install. Binding is not an issue if installed correctly.

Spend the money to buy up if you'd like, but you aren't getting exponential performance gain.

Considering the cost of labor to install new bushings. I installed the elephant rubber and am extremely happy. Mine have been on for over a year and are as good as the originals. My shop compared then to some URO ones they had in stock and confirmed that the elephant ones were a tighter fit

I have the polybronze and I love them but anything would be better than the ancient rubber ones that were on my car.

The HD is valved a bit softer and in some cases works better on the front on the 911 because of its lighter weight. If you have the time, I would get yours revalved for you application. It will be cheaper as well. I have used Konis, but I prefer Bilstiens. I did find the Konis worked better on the front of my 914 though.

I keep waiting for my Weltmeister poly-graphite to kaput. I can't even find wear in them everytime I look

nope, they're not giving up year after year and 10k miles after 10k miles

maybe it's the Weltmeister "Magic-Lube Plastic Bushing Lubricant" that needs lacquer thinner or acetone to take off your hands... aka gorilla snot

At the time of install no grease fittings or sliced passages in the bushing.. and still no squeaking except maybe a cold winter day at extreme suspension stretch

I'm not knocking other bushing 'cause I have no experience with them

ER is the trick engineered install imho

I installed the URO rubber front bushings about nine months / ~15,000+ miles ago. No problems so far.

The installation tool that Elephant Racing provides with their bushings is very useful and makes the job a lot easier.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Have a spare set of URO's, then saw the ERP competition video. I will sell mine for $19.99 shipped ;- ) JK, Carrerax first.
