Chain Tensioners replaced already?

I bought a 78 SC without any history or records. It has 112k miles on the odometer. Is there a way to tell if the chain tensioners were replaced for the better ones at some point in the cars life without dropping the engine and taking it apart?

Look for the oil line update to the cam chain covers, easily visible. The turbo cam chain tensioners are pushed into place with oil pressure, hence the after market oil line to the cam chain tower on both left and right side of the engine. Search this forum and you will find a photo or buy Wayne Dempsey's excellent book, available from Pelican, which you will want anyway. It has photos of this upgrade.
