3.2 oil sending unit leaks? Anyone?
The 3.2 motor in my car was fresh 4000 miles ago. It has started leaking around the oil pressure sending unit sitting in a round indented spot in the top, back center of the motor. I had a local shop put in a new unit with a new sleeve adaptor but it still leaks... Any experience or ideas how to fix this? Is it a "must have" to drive the car?
Thanks guys

Thats the major part of the leaks on the top of the engine. In the past 4 years I have gotten some that I wound up throwing the last few away because the quality could not be trusted. The ones I had were not supplies with the small washer on the bottom, thats how I separated them. The good ones came in a box with the washer attached.

I just replaced mine last night on my 89 3.2 ! Pretty easy job and i cleaned out my AFM at the same time as it was caked with oil and dirt on the inside ...
Maybe they forgot to tighten it or didn't use the washer ... or they forgot to reconnect the crankcase breather hose. I had disconnected mine for better cleaning access ! Ask me how i know ... I could now get access to that sender in 10 minutes flat ![]() It came in a German box and when i took out the sender it said Made in China,at least it came with the washer.Someone has posted a good "how to" thread on this forum, that's the info i took to get to mine ! Cheers! Phil
