Purple Porsche Pics

As there’s a distinct lack of purple Porsches on this board and I’ve finally got my hands on a decent digital camera, I thought the world would like to see my car, maybe some other Purple Porsche owners would like to add theirs?

The colour is Roman Purple btw.

As you may already know, there was an expression in the '50s and '60s in automotive circles; ".....that's a color that would only look good on a Porsche."

Purple is one of those colors, and for the record it looks great on your car. I recently saw an Aubergine early '70s Targa that was a knockout. Unfortunately, I also saw a Freightliner over the road tractor in the same color this weekend. Uggh.

Nice car Luke, I think old Pcars look good in any color, as long as it's the factory color. Purple also looks good on the old Mopar muscle cars, IMHO.

Luke -- nice, elegant color. The "purples" are a close second to Signal Yellow for my favorite old Porsche color.

Beautiful car Luke.....but the other two P cars could muck up a wet dream.... shabby no taste posers is what I'd call em...probably belonging to blokes with mincy little ****** balls.....that are afraid of them shrinkin on em so they gota show the world what big strong men they are by having overwrought overblown Pretend they are Real Porsches... Real Men drive Pre 1974 Porsches, and they belong to the R Gruppe if they have enough hair on their minerals.....

Those look like cup 1 replicas with detailed crest centercaps. I'm not too big on the wing/color, but overall it seems the craftsmanship is nice.

Luke,

Your car looks great. The early 911 colours are fantastic.

I shave mine, but at least they still work. I find crusty bitter old farts talking about thier stones amusing, when in reality they probable haven't seen them in decades. And I'm sure that R Gruppe doesn't permit purple b@stards into their ranks.

Luke,

You've had a result! All the other purple Porsches on this thread look like a bad eighties disco (sorry) - yours looks very classy.

Love those old number plates, my old 356 had those before I moved to Florida - used to bend the front one under the bumper so it wasn't visible, when I got stopped I used to blame it on the front of the car being so low... "must have kerbed it when I parked officer"
