Porsche Crest 1974 911 Targa

I have a 1974 Targa with the engine and transmission out of the car.

The 2.7 that originally came with the car has low compression and would need a rebuild and the transmission seems to be fine. I'm just wondering if I should put a 3.0 or 3.2 liter into it instead? I know they are more reliable but I'm just not sure how they would fit and conform into a 74 targa.

Also just trying to get any feedback as to what anyone else would do in this kind of situation. There are plenty of possibilities and I'm just trying to find different options and ideas. Thanks!

So am I

I would also like to upgrade to a 3.2 motor...it is a common upgrade, but you will need the brain box to do with it...probably some other parts as well. But to answer your question it will fit.

The 3.0 is more of a bolt-in than the 3.2. They all fit though.
