Brake pad warning light

My ride is a 1984 911 Carrera. Brake pads were recently changed 200 miles ago.
Brake pad warning light comes on when first starting the car then goes out. But after driving a few miles (10 miles) it comes back on and does not turn off unless the car is off. Then if I start the car comes on just during starting. Then again after a few miles back on again. I don;t feel anything strange. Brakes work.

Any ideas?

You may have burnt through the minimum brake wear sensor..before you had the pads changed.

I always change those out WITH the pads....sure sounds like what you're seeing. May want to doublecheck the connections (at minimum).

BEST!

Guys thanks. What happens if I keep driving. Would it hurt anything?

Nope. It's just a completed electrical circuit to light up your dash. It is a nice little reminder to have though. I just put new pads and sensors on my '85.
