Where does the large vacuum hose to the cruise control go?
I was pulling my non-functioning cruise control. I plugged the small one, and gave the larger one a gentle tug (to see if it had any slack) and it came out! I know it went into a hole in the front center of the engine bay....where from there? Am I now going to have a massive vacuum leak?

I am watching this one with great interest. I had EXACTLY the same experience yesterday when I removed my non-funcitoning cruise from the 77.
The big hose went into a hole in the center of the crossmember that holds the top of the shocks. Mine came out with no resistance at all. I assumed that some PO had disconnected / cut the hose and put it in there to neaten things up. Now you have me wanting to go out and check the hose on my '86 for comparison.

Thanx JW - just spent a few minutes under my [empty] engine bay wondering what the heck had been ripped off the end of that hose when the engine was dropped. Whew!
BTW, your posts are gold - really appreciated. We all owe you.
