I was wondering if anyone has ever used this website as a source for used track tires.

Good or bad feedback. The prices appear reasonable. The area code checks out for NYC.

John B Tires | "Racing quality used Hoosier and Toyo tyres to victory"

I figured someone here has already tried them.

Here's another one that I've been talking to. They've been very helpful.

John Berget Racing Tires

Excellent contact Matt.

Thanks sooo much.

No problem. I got it from another Pelicanite. So I'm just passing it along. Hope you find what you need.

Interested to know if anyone has used them. Anyone?

I tried to purchase tires from Johnbtires.com and it wasn't the best experience. I paypal the money, wait, wait, email for confirmation, wait, wait, call the telephone number given with the paypal contact info, it goes to a voicemail of someone not with johnbtires.com. Wait some more and then put in a claim at paypal. This prompted Johnbtires.com to send this email

"currently out of stock sorry

please try again in 2 weeks, contact via email first for cc payment as we are phasing out pay pal

We can't send a refund as the money is on hold in pay pal
the option to send a refund is gone
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Regards,

Ron

Needles to say, I will not be using them again. I can't say this will happen to you, but this is what happened to me. This company is not the same as John Berget racing tires. I have no experience with John Berget racing tires but have heard good things about them.

John Berget is the man. Don't bother emailing him though. Just call. Really nice guy.

Amen to that.

+1 on John Berget (NOT johnbtires.com, whoever that is). I've bought several sets of Goodyear slicks from Berget over the years and have had excellent luck.

Since the original posting I have actually ordered and received from John Berget, a pair of 245/17 R6's.

A really nice guy, and an easy transaction. Now I'm just waiting for him to get a pair of 225's for the fronts.

John Berget is THE man when it comes to quality used racing tires at a super cheap price. I've used him before and will continue to do so. He's definitely old school, so you really have to just call the guy and talk to him in person. That's the way he rolls. He likes one-on-one contact. He'll ask what you are looking for, will tell you what he has or will have in a week or two, and will ship them to you promptly.
