H5 to H4 Conversion Question
 

Do the stock trim rings off an '88 Carrera work in place of the panitable trim rings that are purchasalbe with the H4 headlight kits?

Anyone have pics of a convversion to H4 with the black (non-chrome) H4s installed without the trim ring? Would like to see how it looks if trim rings are left off, before I spend $500-600 on the parts for this backdate/upgrade.:)

H5 trim rings don't fit H4s
new H4s can be ordered with either chrome or flat black adjustment rings. The screws will be exposed. It is optional to buy and paint the trim rings that go over them.
There are some photos in previous threads with just the black adjustment rings, it is a little rough looking but functional.

If I took the painted trim rings off mine, it would look half-a***d imo.
