Sold the 3.2 for a 3.3

Sold my 3.2 Carrera for this. I wished I could keep both, but lack of space necessitated a trade. Non-stock parts include rims, momo wheel, and full B&B headers+exhaust. It has a 40%LSD, a/c, original Reno Blaupunkt, lumbar adjustable and heated seats, and sunroof. Thankfully, all the original parts came with her.
The cars are distinctly similar and different. My 3.2 was a nimbler, sharper handler for sure. 930 feels a little more numb, and heavy. But I underestimated the boost on the 930, it is truly insane and addictive. I do prefer the 4 speed on the 930 over my 915 5 speed. Shifts feel more deliberate, and robust. The 930 makes a whole complement of different sounds, its quite entertaining. The grade of leather feels a little nicer in the 930, I wonder if Porsche used something different, or if its just the way it has aged.

After owning the 3.2 for 10 years, I felt immediately comfortable in the 930. Getting straight into a 930 would be a steeper learning curve, for sure. All 911 enthusiasts should make it a point to drive a 930 and some point in there lives. When I have the space, I will buy another 3.2 in a heartbeat, preferably a G50 car. But one thing is for sure, this 930 is a lifetime keeper for me.

I've named her "Lil Monster."

And my beloved 3.2, she will be missed

Nice one, l'm also hoping to do the same flick my 89 carrera and get a 930 no room or cash to do both. But a good 930 cost between 70-100k over here,so l plan to find one in the states, import it and after converting to r/h drive it would have cost me the same as what l paid for my carrera

I hate to tell you, but what you really want is a slightly ratty '79 Targa. Much better car. As it happens, I have one I'll trade you for the 930, even trade.

Toss a K27 turbo with a .8 bar limiter and you will enjoy her even more, much smoother power (and more of it!)..

I rescued a late 80s turbo.....it had a deep sleep for 10+ years. Everyting suspension wise needed work, I hope yours is in better shape. Straight line was a kick....but my SC modded 3.6 was far superior.

Good driving....

If you lighten her up, tighten up the suspension, update the turbo with some good headers, she will feel a lot better. I built one and added a G50 with a Hargett shifter, was expensive but what a hoot she was! She (The Pumpkin) is still bringing smiles out in Kansas City!

The mechanical before paint-
