weird behaviour and A/c removal

I did a valve adjustment and removed my non-functioning comressor and condenser at the same time. The car is running right,(perhaps a wee bit loud) and I even had a DE weekend afterward. the Idle is higher now most of the time. What caused this? Less drag on the motor or did I botch the valve adjustment?

the A/C freewheels when it's off, so that wouldn't be it. perhaps the engine is running more efficiently now that you've done the valves. nice work.

The drag on the engine from the AC has got improve a bit, could explain the higher idle.
