Racewear Rodbolts

Since dropping my 3.2 on the weekend, I've decided to go at least as deep as the rod bearings. Given that the stock rod bolts are a weak point, Racewear bolts will go in.

Anyone have a source for Racewear rodbolts? Thanx!

Its kinda odd what you find when you go in to fix something. When the engine and trans came out, I did what everyone probably does....poked around into all those little spots that we never see when the engine is installed.

Took a close look at the throwout race, and found that it had almost half an inch of axial play - it was moving around the centerline freely, where the pressure plate fingers should have been holding it tight. Whats more, it made the very same hollow rattling sound that I've been hearing at idle with the clutch released since I bought the car a year ago. My wrench thought this was spendy 915 bearings, although he said he had never heard them quite this loud in a box that was otherwise operating fine. It looks like the problem is the pressure plate & TO, which is great news!

I'm enjoying this way too much, but it looks like I'll miss the first DE of the season - there's no way this will be back together by 15 March!

Ouch Ron!
Pelican was the FIRST place I looked - no luck on the site, but will call as well. Like most of us on this board, Pelican is the preferred vendor - got the receipts to prove it.

Guess I thought/think that these might be single source items. Could be wrong. Eager to learn.

#2 on the hit parade is EBS/Engine Builders Supply 1-800-462-3774 www.ebsracing.com is where I have bought plenty of things. Another dealer once told me to use them for new 2.7 RS pistons because they are sometimes unable to compete with on some items. I did buy Racerware from them
