She had a great run, but...
My '87 finally left the nest. It was a happy chance that a clever collector from Scottsdale saw my advert here WTT, WTS: 1987 911 with 3.8 RS Engine and made me an offer I could not refuse. It was not easy on my wife, since she had forgotten that the 911 was for sale. When she came home after shopping I had to tell her that the E39 was going and also the 911. No love lost on the e39 for her, but the 911 was more of a heartbreak.
Here she goes on the transporter for the trip out west. ![]() And what is next? Well, this post tells the next chapter. New Cayman S Owner Checking In - Thanks to all here at Pelican for your help, interest and amusing posts. I will still be lurking but my focus is switching to the water cooled side for a while. New chapters and all that! Cheers, Chris

I can't believe it. The one and only author of the Ultimate Sealant Thread on the rebuilding forum is without an air-cooled. My car is leak free because of you. Enjoy the Cayman.

That was a nice 911, but I am jealous of your Cayman. . . Beautiful colors.

Thanks Greg. I am not selling any engine rebuilding tools yet, the air cooled engines will remain in the bloodstream. But I wanted to see what all the fuss is about with these mid-engined p-cars. I can say that the engine prep before hitting the track with sticky tires is quite dear with the water pumper.
