She had a great run, but...

My '87 finally left the nest. It was a happy chance that a clever collector from Scottsdale saw my advert here WTT, WTS: 1987 911 with 3.8 RS Engine and made me an offer I could not refuse. It was not easy on my wife, since she had forgotten that the 911 was for sale. When she came home after shopping I had to tell her that the E39 was going and also the 911. No love lost on the e39 for her, but the 911 was more of a heartbreak.

Here she goes on the transporter for the trip out west.

And what is next? Well, this post tells the next chapter.

New Cayman S Owner Checking In -

Thanks to all here at Pelican for your help, interest and amusing posts. I will still be lurking but my focus is switching to the water cooled side for a while. New chapters and all that!

Cheers,

Chris

I can't believe it. The one and only author of the Ultimate Sealant Thread on the rebuilding forum is without an air-cooled. My car is leak free because of you. Enjoy the Cayman.

That was a nice 911, but I am jealous of your Cayman. . . Beautiful colors.

Thanks Greg. I am not selling any engine rebuilding tools yet, the air cooled engines will remain in the bloodstream. But I wanted to see what all the fuss is about with these mid-engined p-cars. I can say that the engine prep before hitting the track with sticky tires is quite dear with the water pumper.

Since almost all my serious track and racing machines have been a blue variant, this might bode well
