products to remove wax haze???

OK its more than wax haze. Last year I did a bit of work with a light cut cleaner and my orbital. This was over my skill set I guess because I scuffed some of the black rubber bumper trim and the soft foam rubber of the whale tale. Any suggestions to bring it back?
Yes...I know there is a cleaning/detailing section but it doesn't look like it gets much traffic.

Wax haze can usually be removed with patience and isopropyl alcohol. You can step up to an aromatic like lacquer thinner but you MUST wash it off right away.
Is the rubber more scuffed or discoloured? If colour is the issue then it can be dyed black again with this: (black rubber dye)

LEATHERIQUE LTD - Detail

I dilute it and put it an aerosol bottle from home depot and spray it on in many thin coats.

Mike,

3M Adhesive cleaner (#08984) works very well for removing that white wax residue. I'd kindly suggest using a product that doesn't leave that mess, or use 3M green masking tape on the edges where you want to protect the rubber against the buffer.

I have used the grocery store Mr Clean erasers on my smiley with tremendous success.

The 3M adhesive remover is great and will come in handy on other jobs.

Automotive paint jobbers will have wax and grease remover for prepping panels before painting. I have seen it called pre-clean. It does not bite into the trim rubber like lacquer thinner. Again, plenty of other uses. Usually in gallon size $20-30.

My #1 recommendation is the eraser.

The PO of my car left all kinds of white wax residue, on the black trim, mirror rubber, bellows, smile, everywhere. Adam's V.R.T. took it off with no drama whatsoever, and I'm thinking it's quite a bit gentler than some of the sledgehammer solvents, and great stuff for all of the rubber trim. My rear window rubber went from looking tired and beat to new-looking.

P21S Total Auto Wash (ph balanced citrus degreaser) will take off wax without drying out your rubber.
Whatever you use, once clean, be sure to treat the rubber with a quality conditioner like One Grand ERV Rubber & Vinyl dressing.
Tip: treat your rubber with ERV before waxing the car. This will make it a little easier to get the wax off if you mess up.

Ouch!!! Have you ever seen what citrus products do to paint? I work in automotive manufacturing and I've seen citrus cleaner remove water-borne paint to bare metal. I realize that we aren't talking water-borne but you will never see citrus cleaner near my Guards Red..

How about using brake fluid?

P21S is specifically designed for cars, and is a superior product.
