Torque values for front stoneguard

I'm reattaching the front stoneguard (underneath the steering rack). the Bentley Manual says that the rear Allen is 35 ft lbs, I can believe that. But it states that the front Hex nut is only 21 ft lbs. That seems awfully low for a suspension piece. Can anyone confirm this? I know the Bentley has several mistakes.

Thanks

That 21 ft-lb number is correct. It's not really a suspension piece per se'. These fasteners are used to install two braces that add stiffness to the chassis at that location. The hump in the chassis for the steering gear reduces stiffness there, so the braces help make up for that.

21 nut
35 allen bolt

There alot of low torque settings per PAG/Bentley, I know how you feel FORD or Toyota would have been 100 lbs

Take care to insure they do not cross thread
