Unfortunately, the coverage stinks unless you want to watch the Audi cars 90% of the time. They will show you the vettes now and then but it almost seems like they go out of their way to cut the shot as the 911RSR comes into view.

Le Mans.. Yeah, I agree, at least you get to see the RSR's when they get lapped. Or when they get puncture, like right now....

How epic was the McNish prang? Can't believe there were no casualties.

That crash will be a highlight reel for a long time to come. I wonder if any of the photogs or field marshalls caught any of the debris.

McNish's crash was scary ... the car looked like it was within inches of continuing on its flight path across the tire barrier into the stands instead of rebounding backwards. I'm guessing they are going to have a new wall there next year. Good to see him walk away.

I wonder if any of those photographers got some good shots before running. The organizers got real lucky I think. Close shave for sure...

yes, looks like some part of the car got hung up on the fence otherwise would have gone over with likely injuries on the other side
it looks to me like the cars skip across the gravel pit like a flat rock over water, not really helping much until the car is going under e.g. 80 mph

Yes. The accident today brought to mind the 1955 disaster. Fortunately the outcome this time was better.

Did you see the guy hiding behind the motorbike? Any port in a storm!

The photographers would have been using long focal length lenses to photograph the cars on the track (where they are supposed to be).
If they did snap off a few shots before running for cover, the pics would probably only be of a partial car skidding towards them. If they were dedicated enough to be releasing the shutter when the car hit the wall, the long lenses would only be capturing small bits of shrapnel.
