Post how do i lower 911 seat

I'm trying to figure out
how to lower my driver
seat 1.5-2.5 inches. My
head hits the roll
cage. I would like to be
able to return the seat
back to the original position
at a later time. Can any one
help me?

Based on your criteria of putting it back....just buy a race seat.

The Recaro SVD unit is not a full race seat but has a lot of features. One is lower seat height....as well as reclining adjustment, tilt forward for jump seat access, medium height sides, center cut for a sub belt etc.....

I am 6' 3" and have a long torso. I had the same problem. With stock 1983 seats (non-power) I had negative headroom. My head was cocked to one side, severly, while driving. I purchased a race seat and that lowered things quite a bit. I had just barely enough to give head clearance without a helmet. To get helmet clearance I had to remove the adjustable rail and make some special brackets so my side mount seat could be mounted as low as possible on the stock welded in rails. This took many tries but I am pretty close to where I want to be. It's a combination of recline and fore aft postioning that let me do what I wanted. To go lower, I will need to have the factory rails cut out and new pieces inserted. I have been told this is roughly a $200-$500 job depending on what I want.
