sparkplug wire set

there are a bunch of spark plug wire sets here which do u recommend, probably need to change mine since they are original ones in my 82sc and one is missing the rubber boot on top without paying for the original porsche wires

I am very happy with the standard Clewett wires I bought two years ago. I did not buy the Magnecor for my 81 but they are highly recommended. About a $75 difference in price with the Magnecor being higher.

I went with the Magnecor (KV85) wires recommended by Steve Weiner a couple of years ago and have had no problems. I did need to modify the wire guides a bit as they are thicker than the stock wires.

Happy with the Magnecor also.

Are all the above wire sets installed with out the wire mesh grounding jackets or sleeves?

My Magnecors (KV85) do not have the grounding jacket like the stock wires. When I was doing my original research there were a couple of theories about why teh stock wires were grounded that I no longer remember other than to try and contain RFI noise. I have not had any issues with my installation on a stock 82SC engine.

It was more of a failed attempt by the factory to address the issue of airbox explosions due to ignition crossfire which never cured the problem.
