Testing 15 deg switch

Need some help testing this part. It's the 15 dec C switch from the right timing cover for the 80-83 CIS cars. The black plastic part is separating from the brass section a bit and it loose.

The switch seems to be closed no matter how I test it, either by freezing it for a few hours or heating in up. Unless I'm testing it incorrectly. Suggestions?

Scott,

If the switch does not open when warm, it has failed.

Thank Paul. I guess it stands to reason since the plastic piece is separating from the brass and is about to fall out. Wishful thinking on my part since the little thing is pretty expensive.

Also for anyone else, I had noticed that according to the fuel enrichment computer I was never coming out of open loop. Which I believe on the 80 comes down to two pieces, the 15deg switch and the 02 sensor. O2 sensor voltage is good, so I was not surprised to see this switch falling apart.
