jakc points on lift

I have seen the pics of the factory suggested jack points on a lift.
I have a jack plate also.

So, I went to my sons shop to replace the fuel pump.
It took longer for us to agree on where to put the posts from the lift than it did to replace the fuel pump....lol

As I was looking it occured to me that I could and possibly should add in a four really clear and simple flat bottom "jack points" on this 84 cab.

We had the rear arms as far back as possible and the car is still pretty ass heavy on a lift...but it was safe.

Has anyone put jack point re-enforcements under one of these cars...
Something to make it stupid simple to know where to place a jack, and flat bottomed so most any jack will not harm anything else?

I have AC on this car, so that makes it so you have to move the AC lines (according to the factory manual) and zip ties them out of the way to get a jack or lift under the front drivers side...

Any more logical suggestions?

Rich

The points shown above are exactly where I set the lift arms, except in the front , I will move the arms closer to the front of the car to clear oil/ac lines. If the sheet metal is soft in that area in the rear, I will also use the sway bar mounts in the rear. I don't like to , but it is better than mangling up somebody's underpinnings.
Also, if you are using an assymetrical lift, with longer arms in the rear, just rack the car backwards, works perfect, and puts the weight where it should be .

see now, red x-marks in the front have oil lines on one side and AC lines on the other.

yep. Never liked that diagram, it's very old and not nearly clear/concise enough. My car doesn't even look like that underneath................not "up close" in real life, anyway.....

I have a small collection of 1/2" thick plywood pads 2"x4" and 4"x4" that I use on top of the lift pads to help with clearance around lines and bodywork. You can even stack them for extra clearance. I'll usually use a 2x4 pad angled to match the seam just in front of the rear sway bar mount and another on the seam just behind the front wheels and avoid hitting those lines.
