LOOK! No Wood!!

Thanks to fellow Pelicans I have finally aquired a right hand decklid hinge that has the gas strut attachment on it to hold up my Carrera tail. The PO added the tail and it has never stayed up in the last 6 years or so.

Before installation:



The hinge was white so I had to paint it to match my Guards Red, I found a perfect match at ACE Hardware :



And the end result:







I thought the project would take maybe an hour, I was sadly mistaken as I need help holding up the lid and re-aligning it as well. I had to wake my sleeping teenager which was a job in itself!!

I also remove the AC radiator thingy from the lid, the day I want to get my AC back working will be a beeatch!!

Hey Pete!!

She is running pretty good, just took her out for about an hour with the Targa top off. I do think she will need a top end done, probably next winter project.

What makes you suspect a top end refresh?
Haven't been real busy but enough to keep me out of mischief.
I'm in Nashville for the night........on the way back home from Houston.
