Mintex or Hawk?

...any differences? Can I just go to local parts store and get generic pads? Local dealer quoted $75 bucks for front hawk pads. 2-4K miles on road a year. No racing, autocrossing, etc. Occasional hard stop due to deer, racoon, sasquatch, etc. but that's about it. Cursory review of archives yielded little for this specific question.

I use Hawk Blue on the track but KFP Magnum silver on the street. Both are IMO excellent for their intended usage.

Just get the Mintex from Pelican. Very good product on the road and for auto-x. I do not do DEs so I am not sure how they would do on the track.

I think Pelican has Mintex for around $30.
