Real or replacement w/s in '89?

I have "sekurit" in the side windows, but "sigla" on the windshield, so I'm not sure if it may have been an early replacement. The present day replacements are "pilkington".

Another question: The car is a Dec. build '89 911 with no metal trim. Does this call for a 964 w/s?

You have a replacement W/S although it might be from Porsche as an OEM replacement, Sigla was a a factory supplier and aftermarket supplier.

Pilkington is a US aftermarket supplier. You can still get a Sekurit or Sigla if you desire.

The plastic trim is standard for 88/89 Carreras. It is still available from Porsche and is cheap. The aluminum trim also fits and might be a little nicer.

You do not need a 964 windshield although people have custom fit one to your application.

I went to a great Prosche event yesterday & saw some HEAVY Porsches, like 50 tons. While Porsche did a design a prototype for the Tiger tank, another version was the one produced, and I didn't find (in a quick search) find that he was as influential in tank design as I had thought. The Littlefield tank collection is the largest private collection of tanks in the world; it's in Portola Valley near Stanford. If you're a gear-head, they have some BIG gears to look at. Google 'MVTF'.

Anyway, back to '89 windshields - There was another '89 and a 964 there. (Pretty amazing for a 912 event.) The '89 had a black AL trim ring. The 964 had the same rubber trim my '89 has. Both cars had Sigla windshields. Original???? Sunset Porsche gave me a 964 part number, but didn't seem very sure of himself. I'm leaning that way, but would still like to get more input.
