front screen mirror black dot

Hi, I have just replaced the windscreen on my 68 with a new one from Pilkinton.
It was labeled 64- and had a mirror mount glued on which was easily removed with a little heat, but there is still an ugly black dot left on the glass.
Is it possible to remove that dot? I've tried with paint remover with no effect.
Should I try to scrape it of,I surely don't want to scratch my new window!

Try a heat gun and a scraper.
