800hp Twin-Turbo Fab-Car Chassis Cayman

I was out at the Portland Rose Cup races today and came across this crazy fast Cayman who took 2nd overall. Very quick car and very well built. Check it out.

Check out this 800hp twin turbo Boxster running at the Portland Rose Cup races this weekend.

I believe they said that's a 962 motor in midships.

Nice helmet to go along with it!
I would not want to see the build sheet on it.

Just a few hours of work went into that Cayman. Unlimited budget?

Great build but not much of the Cayman left.

Wouldn't it be easier (and cheaper) to start from scratch rather than modify a car like this?

Did it start as a Cayman or as a Boxster? It looks to me like the base is a Boxster...

Very nice!

It looks to be an appropriate design tube-frame (not monocoque) '962' with body ‘hung on’ to comply with being caller a Caymen (just like the winning ‘Camaro’, I’m sure).
This is how good, fast, safe race cars are built.

It appears to be well set up and I would not hesitate to race it (if I were a bit younger).

Clearly it is in a ‘developmental’ mode, learning the aerodynamics and other (some from the GT3RSR I see).

More power to the team and effort.
Lets hope the next outing is the top of the podium.

Best,
Grady

I like how the tailpipes are turned away from the sound booth, right towards that little kid.
