The sending unit in my 1980 911SC (91,000 mi.) is very slow to
indicate oil being pumped into the oil tank. Eventually, it will register correctly, matching a manual check of the dipstick. Would removing the sender and cleaning all the "crud" off the unit do any good or is it simply time for a new sender? Thanks, Fred Cook 80 911SC |

A 3rd alternative is the internal tank baffle screen has come loose and the level sender float is dragging on it. This happened to my 1976; eventually the float just stayed jammmed at "full". I need to try and pull out/remove the baffle screen or get a new tank. Jim
