Stainless Steel door sills....

I have found a supplier of stainless steel sills.... with the "Carrera" script. The maker usually only makes them for the older 911s w/ "911" on them, but said if I could buy 5 of them (or find at least 4 others wanting them) he would make them. I have been looking for a good set of stainless sill for awhile, and they are very expensive! His are $125 and are very high quality. Anyone interested? Wayne?
(they would look just like these which are for a 996)

Sean, if they truly will look that good, count me in! And is that $125.00 for a set of two or just for one?

Looks good count me in. I have actually been looking for some. Could he put "Porsche" or "Targa" or even "SCWDP" on them?

Porsche, Targa, or SCWDP would all be great. Since I have an SC.. Count me in if someone wants to order a run of any of those 3.. I'd hate to "downgrade" to just a regular Carrera!!

Does this constitute a group buy at something less than $125? If so, my rubber ones are rapidly shrinking; and I'll take my sills plain (should be a little easier to manufacture).

Hmmm... he makes the ones w/ "911" on them now and currently has them up for auction...Click here for the Ebay auction

Note, I am the current high bidder- but I really like the "Carrera" sill a ton better.... he has it up for auction as well, but is now only making it for the 996 (and $215). I wrote him about making one for our cars w/ the "Carrera" script & he said he would do it w/ a minimum order of 5..... so here we are.
Kurt is one for sure, pbs911- it seems like you are in, then it starts getting fuzzy- you guys might get him to do SCWDP, or whatever if you have enough orders and he feels so inclined- but for now I need two others who would like "Carrera". Thanks!
Oh, Sherwood- the $125 is his reg price- I think we would need some really big numbers (Wayne) to get a discount from there. $125 is a great price for sills like these- look around- they are more like $300.

Sean,
thanks for doing the legwork on this. I'll wait for the masses to group-order the plain jane sill plates. For now, $125 is better spent on other car things.

Sean,
It appears that A-551-419-28 is the trim piece that holds the carpet edge down. The item in question on this thread is the flat trim plate that covers the horizontal door sill surface just outboard of the carpet. Thanks anyway. Maybe a single rubber replacement is in my future.

Thumbs up

As long as they look like those in the picture I am in. Let me know how we would work out the payments. Those look a lot better then the 911 ones, more steel on the sides. Let me know. Thanks

Ok, we are in! I just got an email back from Stephen, the price will be less than I thought- $117.00. I will write everyone who said they wanted one and supply you guys w/ his contact info- he needs the mailing address and CC info. He said he would go to work on the sills and will have them ready in aprox two weeks. Thanks, Sean.

Carnut: I love these. Great addition! I prefer the 911 and just outbid you on ebay so you're off the hook
