Older engine in a newer 911- 964

Does anyone know if I can insert a 74 911 2.7 engine with a 901 transmission into a 1990 964 that currently has no engine or drive train? What issues can I expect - other than under powered.

Why would you want to do something like that? do you have a roller and an old engine sitting around?

Just off the top of my head:

Shifter is different, 964 has hydraulic clutch, CV joints may be different, motor and trans mounts won't line up, no power steering pump on older engine, engine sheet metal different..........

And of course you will have to adapt oil lines, fuel lines, wiring, etc.....

You'll get less of a flogging suggesting putting a LS6 and a suitable gearbox in it....
