Vacuum lines behind throttle housing

I need some help with hose connections on the back side of the throttle housing. I took the throttle housing off my 89 3.2 carrera to replace the throttle micro switch, but didn't do a good job remembering were they came off. I connected the cloth hose to the port at the base of the housing and the one that "Tees" the the right and left side of the engine above that.
What I don't know about is the "SENSOR" that is screwed into the housing above them. It has an open connection on the top with nothing connected to it and a hose about 4 inches long on the bottom hose connection on the sensor. Where does that connect? I checked the Bently manual and couldn't find anything.

I topped my tank on a hot day (after putting the throttle housing back on) and now when the engine is hot I occasionally get a Pulsing idle 900 to 1050 and then back down. I'm thinking it must be a vacuum leak. I had fuel running out the overflow tube in the wheel well next to the passenger door post after a few hours (carbon canister overflow?)

Any help would be appreciated.
