Noise and tach ?

So every once in a while my sc will make a clicking type sound from somewhere in the back, speeds up with rpms, sometimes nothing. Drove it today, seemed louder than usual, then suddenly tach didn't work and the sound was gone...a min or two later tach is back, sound is back. Ran fine the whole time. Thoughts? Haven't had a chance to crawl under yet. Thanks

I hate to sound like an A$$, but search "tach clicking" and you'll get two or three threads about this. I've got the same issue, just haven't got around to pulling the guages out yet. There is supposedly a brown wire that controls a device that is basically a "timer" for the O2 sensor. Cut the wire and the click is gone forever with no adverse effects. I only say search it out because I forgot the process and I'll have to search it again myself when the time comes.

I'd be cautious cutting the wires until you know FOR SURE what's up......of course I don't anything about the SC's.....as Jow suggested: "search it out"....

Best!

Yeah Joe I read those ("mystery noise in sc"), but I'm wondering if something else is up... The noise they describe is heard left/front, seems quiet since best heard with top up and windows up. Mine is fairly loud, sounds like it is outside or under the car, behind and to the right, loudest with windows down. sorry, should have described the noise better. Thanks guys
