I have a 1984 911 Carrera and a 1989 944 Turbo......both great cars but completely different.

Rear engine/front engine, air cooled/water cooled, NA/ Turbo... the best of both worlds........

Cheers,

Geoff.

Great looking car. I'd buy it.....I actually owned a 944S the same color with parchment interior and it was a terrific car. Make sure the clutch has been changed. Rubber hubbed clutch will go out when you least need that to happen. Otherwise, enjoy the hell out of it. Completely different experience but a very nice and finely balanced automobile.

Congratulations. Great buy.

I completely agree about the handling. I have an 86 911 and an 89 944. Totally different feeling with both cars but once I got the hang of the 944 and went back to 911, I thought the 944 felt more stable than the 911. I love them both.

And that 951 can be easily pushed to over 300hp safely.

The turbos didn't use the rubber centered clutches of the NA 944s. They all have the spring centered clutches.

I've had a few 944s, including a turbo. Great cars.

Nice ride! I have been keeping a look-out for a clean 944 for ages, but most are knackered over here.

Very nice, Love it, love the blistered arches look.
Also kinda strange how certain wheels suit certain cars.
The dials on the 944 look a bit useless on a 911 but look super on the 944 where they belong?
Loving the collection you got started.

I have a 1987 951. After repainting several years ago, I parked/stored it. I will dig it out again in a few years when I need a new daily driver. I think it would eat my stock 911SC's lunch on a race track, although I think my SC has a slightly higher top speed.

911 944

I do enjoy the differences in the two models.

I have clocked about 20k miles on the 86 944 N/A.

And about 5k miles on the 911 sc euro.

Both cars are a joy. In the photo is my other ride a Seville STS with about 100k miles.

Keep in mind before the porsche I was running the Caddy and two series Rovers.

I've had a bunch of 944's over the years, including two Turbo's. One modified 86, which was much faster than my stock 930, and an unmodded turbo s as well. Great cars, and a whole different driving experience than a 911 based car. I think they make excellent road trip cars. I sold my turbo s just after buying my 930, I was feeling a little guilty. I wanted to keep them both, but...... All of my other 944's in the past were used as daily drivers/ some beaters. A couple of them were pretty nice, but a few were turds. The clutch job is either expensive, or time consuming , which ever way you go, but other than that, maintenance on them was pretty easy, and they were all reliable fun cars. Given a choice of only one, I would still take a 930 over a 951
Hey landrover!, I see Pa plates on those cars, where are you located at?

Some of us just can't decide if they want their engines in the front (928S), the middle (Cayman) or rear (911S).

I have a few 944 track cars(a few for sale too) and the only Ocean Blue 88 Turbo "S" along with my 911s. Great cars for runs to the store for beer or Home Depot runs..

Course, I've been playing with water pumpers for a while...

I've had twice as many 944s as 911s. (2 and 1, respectively)

Anyway, the 944 is such a great, well balanced car. This is my 944S2 track car all dressed up with the newly painted wheels a few years ago. It's a bit more roughed up now from chasing down other Porsches. They are two different animals, but I love them both!
