Porsche Crest 911 Engine Oil Sump Test Rig on The 'Ring "Must see video!"

Found this monster on the you-tube, thought it was a simply spectacular video and an impressive example of just how far Porsche will go with their R&D process

Made me proud!

WOW!!
I could see a team using something like this to evaluate the whole race (like 24 hr Le Mans) to see if the engine would perform for the full race.
Talk about PREP....the ultimate.

Some factory teams (e.g. Ford in the 60's) tested their LeMans engines this way. From what I recall, they had a computer program to shift up and down at programed engine speeds/loads of the course for 24 hrs. However, they didn't have the capabilities at the time to simulate changing X/Y engine axis. Laboratory Simulation, Mark II-GT Powertrain

This is typical and thorough Porsche R&D at its best.
