Skip in my SC didnt come back part 2

Started it up today and it ran as it usually does. I think I had some water in one or more spark plug holes. Im happy the skip went away....TargaEuro

Unless you opened the deck lid and specifically washed off the engine's intake valve covers, or distributor cap, I don't think it could have been related to your trip to the wash. Those spark plugs are a long ways out of the way, and the Beru connector has a rubber boot that fits very tightly around the plug.

If your spark plug wires are old and cracked, the wash water would have a much higher likelihood of causing a miss or skip, since they are out in the open .

Warren...This is the first and probably the last time I'll ever disagree with you. Yes when new, the "air seals" on the plug connectors do the job of keeping water out of the plug "wells"....when fairly new but as they get old they harden and develop a "set". One plug change can allow these seals to move a bit and not sit tight against the opening. I had the after wash missing problem and talked to my guru about it he recommended replacing the seals. I did and eventually (had a real light show at night) got a new set of wires but after I replaced all of the seals with new ones before going to new wires, I could wash the engine and had no miss.
