Post clutch pedal cruise control switch

I finally found time to check my clutch microswitch to see if that was the problem with my dead cruise control on my '82 SC. I read all the posts r/t this and even saw a few pictures that showed wires at the base of the pedal cluster. Other posts said to look in the tunnel to right of accellerator pedal. But after an hour of looking I came away with zilch. There were no wires to be seen around pedal cluster and the view through the slot by gas pedal was limited to say the least. I did finally find a small metal tab that moved when the clutch was depresses or pulled up by hand. This was viewable through the slot. If this is it I don't see how to adjust it because of severely limited room. Do you have to get under the car to make adjustments or am I just way off base here. TIA

The switch is almost in the center of the car. I think it is adjusted from inside by adjusting the bracket with the screws that secure it to the floor. I think you nee to remove the console to get at it.
On my '84 I cheated by tying a length of fishing line to the switch arm and then going for a drive - I pulled the line back and the cruise worked - indicating that the switch needed to be moved forward. Not wanting to go thru the trouble of pulling the console apart (for the third time since I have owned the car) I slid a short section of rubber hose over the arm, which had the same effect as moving the switch forward.
Good luck.
