The owner of the seats wanted to cover them in a teal synthetic leather so we are using an nice auto/marine material that is specially treated and carries a very high temp, rub and uv rating as well as mildew protection. (can handle moisture, easy to clean, great for track use, and still reasonably affordable to replace if ever damaged) (partial pattern onto back of material) ![]() (felt w/canvas backing to be used on the under side of inserts for a secure grip against the velcro) ![]() (nearly all of the pattern pcs) ![]() (stripped seat) ![]() ![]() (basic cover pcs) ![]() (test fitting the cover before completing the stitch work) ![]() ![]() (Final outcome minus some trimming of the excess material around the guides) ![]()

WOW.
Very very well done. I know where I'm going to send all of our seats when they need recovering. Send me your contact information!

Thank you, just sent you my contact info via pm.
Here is a more zoomed in shot of the seat so you can see a little more detail. The faint white lines on the insert are just chalk marks so we could have the Recaro logo centered.

Great work, a2coupe2a! Now you've got me thinking about 964RS seating for my 964C2. Hmmm.

a2coupe2a.. very nice work!
So, tell me/us.. what does it cost to have a set of LS seats done in something like post #9 & 12? - Are most of what you've shown thus far done in "synthetic leather?" And if so, what kind of cost difference for real leather. - If a seat I have mainly need to be recovered, i.e... the padding/foam is fine, do you offer the coverings in a manner in which they could be installed by the purchaser? Thx and again.. great looking work! Paul

Thanks guys, we appreciate the positive feedback
![]() All of the seats listed are in different grades of synthetic. Real leather increases the prices pretty substantially and to be completely honest i prefer synthetic in my personal vehicles. Not only is it more affordable with a similar rub/uv rating to leather but 99 out of 100 people would not know the difference when it comes to the look/feel of the higher end stuff. Also its alot easier to maintain over time which means more likely to last. We can sell/ship pre made covers to you no problem. We actually offer free install or free shipping on anything we offer. If you choose to have them shipped we will test fit them on a set of seats here and take pictures to insure a perfect fit. I do however highly suggest professional installation from someone who is familiar with recaro seats. The price for a complete recover of two ls's would range anywhere from 700-1000 in synthetic depending on exactly what you wanted done and the grade of material. Leather would be 1400+ depending on the exact leather you wish to use. Once again that also includes free install if you get the seats to us or free shipping if you prefer to fit them yourself/locally. |
