Plugging the O2 sensor hole
 

Got some used SSI headers for my 2.7 engine. However the headers have a fitting for an O2 sensor which I don’t have. I’ve been trying to find something to plug this opening without luck. Searched the forum and found a couple posting saying to use a broken O2 sensor, but, I don’t have one of those available either.

Anyone found a fitting that screws into this hole and doesn’t look to ugly?

I used this on my university's Formula SAE car.

Summit racing has them too. Easy to find. You should be able to find a stainless version without an issue. O2 sensor bung plug is what I'd search under.

My mistake, as I see he already stated he considered an old O2 but doesn't have one handy.

Ugly it may be, but it works. How's that any different than a bung plug, which is basically the correct sized screw to fill the hole? O2 sensors are pretty much standardized in terms of thread size. So check out your local hardware store and see if you can find a M18 x 1.5 hex head bolt and screw it in there.

Your local hydraulic supply house or industrial fastener supplier will have a plug in stock. Least "ugliest" will be a plug with a recessed allen-head (similar to the transmission drain plug).

from your extra 911 engine case, use the caps for the oil pressure check valves. channel locks gets them tight.
