Unhappy Braided Ground strap

ok.. here is a really dumb question. last night I was making final connections on my motor. Their is a braided ground strap that is located in the engine compartment, the one that is attached to a stud with a couple of other ground straps next to the fuel accumulator. Well, where on my motor does the braided strap with the ring lug attach too? I'm stumpped.

Thanks Guys

I don't have ground straps in my fuel accumulator area. Just one big strap between the tranny nose and the body, under the car on the passenger side.

Is it the strap that connects to the rear deck lid, at the driver's side hinge?

Wink

I'm w/wckrause on this one. Also, braided ground straps are more efficent, IMO.

There are three specific braided ground straps that I can recall in the engine compartment:

1. From the engine cover to the body.

2. From the alternator frame to one of the engine top row of M8 case DIN 985 Nylock nuts.

3. Under one of the M6 Allen bolts mounting the CDI-unit to one of the mounting bolts for the relay plate to the body at the fender ... a bare sheet metal spot -- masked from painting to provide good electrical grounding for the relay plate and all of its' electrical circuits!

Thanks guys.. I know its not the the deck lid ground. I didn't have to remove those to drop the motor.
I know it's not the Alternator ground, and it's not my CDI Ground
That leaves the the Engine cover to Body ground.
Warren, do you mean Engine Shroud? and if so can I use one of the rear mounting bolts on the drivers side?

Thanks again..

Thanks... I'm not sure I'll have to check it out when I get home..

I re-did this strap when the engine was out. Part of the engine bay cleaning painting process now I can just cant remember where I disconnected it from. I could have sworn it was attached to the engine some place. that may explain why I cant seem to find a obvious attach point on the motor.

Thanks all.... Jorge (Targa Dude)
