Question on Fuel Pump

My research shows that a 1980 911 SC should have a Bosch # 0 580 254 967 fuel pump.

My installed pump is a Bosch # 0 580 254 984

My question is does it make a difference which pump I go with? I assume that the different model numbers would have variations in pressure, flow rate and possibly which model of car it was used in.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

jb

All I currently know on this topic is that the stock fuel pump is required to flow > 1000ml per 30 seconds. You could test yours out to see if you get the right flow characteristics?

John,

You are OK. This FP will work on 911 CIS engines ('74-'83) including early Carreras (3.2). I've used this same pump for many CIS engines including my engine test stand.

Thanks Tony

Its nice to have more than one pump model to search for - I keep an eye on eBay for used pumps that are in working condition.

As luck would have it, a 984 pump showed up in Germany. Now to decide whether to buy it.
