Can I do any damage if I try to start car without alternator ..?

I removed the alternator, fan shroud, and took belt off the AC to do it. The shroud will be going out for powder coating and in the mean time I am eliminating clifford alarm. I am to the point that I need to put battery in and test to make sure it will still fire, that I did not remove any wrong wires. will I do any damage if I turn it over a few times?

it will not do any harm...just don't run it for a long time.

And make sure to tape off the ends of the cables that attach to the alternator. You don't want any fireworks!

Well, she won't wrong for long as the spark plug will quicklt drain the battery. When my alternator went out, I did not realize it but the spark plugs while running completely drain my battery  Makes sense alternator can't recharge the battery.

Probably best to have a charger on the battery and not turn the lights on......

A '69 911E can drive from Daytona Florida to some place in northern Georgia on battery power alone. Don't ask me how I know. ;-)
