help with fire order problem
hi guys... after changing the plugs and wires I am having rough idle issues. I am curious why factory steel braided wires are grounded and the magnacor ones are not?
anyway after reading other posts I found out by using a timing light and hooking it up to each wire I could find out which one is not working. I discovered that #4 is not working but all others were. I thought if I messed up wire connectors to dist then two would not work. I put old plugs and wires back on and same results. I know from bentley manual the notch on on dist where number 1 is but I have double checked all wires are in the right places. what am I doing wrong???? |
the bentley manual may have an error - the SC distributor turns counterclockwise. check the direction with other sources. also I think the rotor pointing to the notch is only showing TDC if the TDC mark on the pulley lines up with the mark on the case; otherwise it may be 180 degrees off.

thank you Darrell ....(please check in once in a while) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1311019144.gif |
It won't even start.........

If the distributor is 180° off, it won't even start or idle. The fact the the poster has the engine running (rough), it negates the 180° off assumption. Tony |
thank you thank you! benltey has made an error counter-clock wise did the trick.
she fired right up. thanks again. |
Holy sheeit.......this was what ICE was talking about , long ago!! Those years,...
WOW, Doyle |
Bentley MAY have an error? THEY DO have an error.
The SC dizzy turns the opposite way of other Porsche flat 6s and they don't even admit the error on thier website or fix it in later editions. |
+1 Bentley is very inconsistent, at least Haynes will help you if you call them.
I called them and they were very upity |
