Can someone check VIN - Atlanta area

Could someone run a carfax (USA) or if you have a resource in the Atlanta area to get some history on a VIN for me. Obviously I have no beef with anyone as I have owned the car now for 2 years and it is running just fine. The car has been in Ontario Canada since June 2000. I am the third owner here. I am trying to find the previous owners in Ontario Canada as well just to get some history. I just want to find out some of the background on my Pcar - 9117201820. I just want to know more about the car.

Running a carfax is against the forum rules. I don't know how Canada does their motor vehicle registrations but perhaps there is a bill of sale or an old title with their info on it?

You might as well remove the CarFax reference from you posting as they only work on the 17 Digit VIN.

Based on the VIN it is a 1977 911S coupe, the 1820th one built that year.

Looks like a nice, well-kept Porsche in the photo.

83 and above......even then it's iffy.

The only info I have is that June 2000 the car was registered here in Ontario Canada from Georgia. No other records at this end.

Up here we don't view regulation as much as a Big Brother watching but it can always help.

I was quite surprise that when I did the CarFax, I could follow the trail from cradle (first registration in 1983) to the place that will become her tomb in 2009.

5 POs and it only went from 3 towns in Ontario to 2 towns in Quebec back to 1 in Ontario within a radius less then 400 miles.

The reports are notorously inaccurate. My 83 has two records, one used the 0 instead of the instead of an O in the VIN# and vice versa. Both had different information, both were wrong.

Tire jockey enters a made up mileage on the invoice because he's lazy yand won't read the actual mileage. Carfax picks it up and flags it as a roll back.....you get the idea. It's dependant data input by low end wage monkeys.

Could not agree more, Garbage In/Garbage Out...

I was lucky, when I drop by where it was 1st license, an older salesmen remember the car (not from the present look) but from the the date they receive it and sale it as it was their only Cab they were able to get that year. It did not last a week on the lot.

What does Atlanta have to do with it? Are you asking because of NA PAG being located here?

Mark, the first owner in Canada brought it up from Atlanta GA - that is what is on the information as "previous owner". I have not located the PO to confirm this. All I am asking is that someone in the Atlanta area could take the VIN and see if they can locate any of the owners. I just want to complete the history of my Pcar. I do not know the rules of privacy in the States so if this is inappropriate let me know. Thanks. Gord.

I believe that the Jim Ellis Porsche is one of the oldest Porsche dealerships in the area. I have also heard that a lot of employees from Jim Ellis went to work at Hennessy Porsche when it first started. You might try checking with the two dealerships to see if they still have any records.
