OK, so here is some exhaust info and my next small project 79 911sc
when I bought my 79 it had stock exhaust, and within the 1st year or so i took it up to a local reputable air cooled shop and they had a exhaust and muffler from a 74 911 that they thought would be a great back date for me. I had them do teh work and the difference it power was quite noticable! I think it's amust do for everyone with a 79. However, I just so happened to fit this in before Colordao did away with the ease of getting a collector plate, so now i never have to emission my 911 any more.
![]() After a couple more years I decided to convert the 74 muffler to a 2 in 2 out from the 2 in 1 out. The noise is quite a bit louder, and the difference in power seem to only come into play once 2nd is engaged and at higher RPM. Which I think that actually makes sense since we are talking about velocity now right? Well anyways, I am going to the muffler shop tomorrow who did the mod, and will be having them create me a cap. Iplan on drilling a couple holes in the cap and either fastening it with a cotter pin that is removable, or bolts with wing nuts. Not sure yet. I'll try and get before and after pics and video.

nope, not gonna happen, one thing led to another, and now the 911 is sitting in the garage tail lights and housings out, fiberglas bumper off and I have decided to clean all the parts i can get to now and gave the bumper a good scrub. Gotta put in new mesh grills now, then re wire LED license plate light, then get it back together and get it to the muffler shop. So these things take longer than planned ...
I am not sure how to wire the LED license plate light thouggh because the wires want to melt being so close to the muffler... Any high temp wires I can get that can withstand the muffler heat? ![]()

I re-used the heat shield sleeve that should be on the factory wires and zip-tied it up in the crevice under the reflector using the existing holes. Bill K
