green fuel line

Hello,
THere are two green fuel lines that run from under the transmission to the engine compartment. To remove on of them, do I have to remove the transmission mount plate? The fuel line connection seems to be unaccessible and tucked up above that plate.
Thanks
Scott

On an SC, the fuel lines are single pieces from the tank or pump all the way back to the engine. That aside, to get to the openings in the rear firewall at the tunnel, you can remove the trans mount by placing a jack under the transmission and then removing the 2 large mounting bolts followed by the four small nuts securing the mount to the gearbox. Oh, the sway bar will need to come off as well.

not on my 78 SC or the 83 SC my motor came from.

the fuel lines have a flared fitting for both feed and return lines right above the gearbox mount immediately where the floorboard terminates rearward.

on both cars above, the fuel lines from that point to the engine bay are discreet lines with flare fittings at both ends. Hard lines on the 83, flexible rubber lines on the 78

Are the fuel feed and return line the same pressure (not high pressure like the injector lines)?
thanks

I honestly don't know, but i'm highly doubtful the return line is a high pressure system. The feed line is, of course, high pressure

Scott,

The return line does not experience the same fuel pressure as the delivery pressure on normal condition but could experience similar fuel pressure when total blockage occurs. This is very rare occurrence but for safety reason the return line should also be fuel injection type hose (high pressure rating). In the presence of return line blockage, the delivery and return lines could experience greater fuel pressure than the injection lines. The injector lines pressure is controlled by the system pressure (65 - 75 psi.) while the fuel line/s could get as much as 100 psi. or more pressure (FP capacity). HTH.

Hello,
I got two M14 x 1.5 female fittings a while ago but they are very low flow.

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy two fuel fittings:

1) female M14 x 1.5 that fits 3/8" ID hose that is this type of fitting:

2)male M14 x 1.5 that fits a 3/8" hose that is this type of fitting:

thanks
