What material tubing should be used for the tubing that goes from the brake fluid reservoir to the master cylinder ?

I understand that the brake fluid can sweat of the tubing if you do not use the correct hose . I would like to know what is safe to use?
A rubber hose is OK ? Or there is a special rubber hose for this application ? Tygon 2375 or 2475 ? I am relocating the brake fluid reservoir and the hard line clear tubing will not fit. |

Our host sells it by the meter. You cut it to length.

What our host sells is the hose for the short pieces that link the reservoir and the pricey formed plastic feed lines (Pelican Parts - Product Information: PCG-355-063-00-OEM). I believe the OP is asking about the latter.
Forum etiquette prevents me from posting an alternate source, but I have used relatively inexpensive flex nylon tubing (rated for hydraulic fluid) for this application. The metal ends that enter the reservoir grommets can be switched over. Email me for details. Mike

Thanks you are right I am looking for the clear plastic hose. But I have been reading and they do not recommend the one for hydraulic fluid as the brake fluid has a different composition it is glycol ether based and the hydraulic fluid is oil based. I have read that the brake fluid can sweat if the hose is not the appropiate for it. |

Don,
As far as I can tell (from some googling on 'nylon brake fluid'), nylon tubing is generally accepted for brake fluid. Especially in a low pressure (gravity-fed) situation, it seems like it should serve your purposes. Mike
